NEW FUN Class!

Basic Outdoor Camping Survival Class

Instructor: Danny Bernal, Regional Training Coordinator

Grades: 3rd- High School


Two different 6-Week Sessions to choose from:

Fall: Wednesdays 12:30-2:00

September 7th, 14, 21, 28, Oct 5th and (OPTIONAL) Sat Oct 22nd


Spring: Wednesdays 10:30-12:00

Feb 22nd, Mar 01, 08, 15,22 and (OPTIONAL) Sat Apr 01, 2023


Class Description:

This will Be a Fun Interactive Training Course with hands on practice and fun team work all the way through the 6 Sessions.


You will learning the Survival Priorities of:

  • Shelter -Heat- Water and Food and Fire craft Basics and Types of Water Purifications.

  • We will be Setting up tents, setting up stoves , lanterns and cooking some basic items.

  • Advancing to survival water sources, setting up different Types of tents and learning about Survival shelter making.

  • Testing Water Purifying methods and Practicing various Methods of Fire Craft and Safety.

  • And for a Grand Finale (OPTIONAL OFF CAMPUS SATURDAY), we will Meet in Azusa Canyons East Fork Trail Head for a hike and practice of what we’ve learned (except Fire craft) We will set up a campsite, learn some edible and poisonous plants, purify water and have a meal.


$175.00 per student which Includes;

  • Survival Magnesium/ Stick Fire Starter tool

  • Sample meals we prepare

  • Military MRE Meal Ration for Session 6 OPTIONAL Hike

  • Bottles of Water for the Hike
